Does anybody know how Hair extensions work?

There are many different methods of hair extension. There is the fusing method (this method fuses your own hair with extensions), the bonding method (where you use a special glue and place them on the base of your hair) and then there is the method where you take your natural hair and plait it and then sew the extensions on top of the plait...

Hair extensions can last for a long time depending on the method but they are not permanent.

Some methods are very expensive so I suggest you call a few local beauticians in your area and compare prices.

I personally wear extensions and I like them alot. I have it sewn in but sometimes try a different method.

Depending on your lifestyle, you will know what would be the best method for you.

Good luck and let me know if you try any.

It depends on what type of hair extentions u use

Hair extensions are woven into your natural hair and secured in place with hair glue. They are temporary, and can start to look off after you've washed your hair a few times. At the latest they must be redone or taken out when your hair grows out a little. I stress the word little, leaving them in too long will look awful.

There are different ways to put hair extensions in. Glued in or sewn in. Gluing them in is a bad idea and bad for your hair.

It depends on what type you get. I had gotten some last year, called "Great Lengths" hair extensions. What the stylist did was take long hair (real hair) and this machine that melts this keratin based glue type substance and it basically gets melted onto your real hair and blended in. It took four and a half hours and it lasts about six months.

There are different types of hair extensions. If you like them temporary, you can glue them in and they will last from 2-3 weeks. IF you need to take them out sooner, use baby oil on the tracks of the weave. If you want them in longer you would have to do a full head weave. They cornroll your natural hair into a circle its called a Honeycomb...and they will sew tracks of the weave into your hair..not your scalp..just your hair. That can last up to 3 months. Hope that helps

Each strand is 'pre-tipped' with a synthesized keratin protein that acts as a glue to bond the strands onto your hair. Heat may be used to bond, or 'melt' the glue, or some stylists use FastFusion technology, which uses air pressure to bond the hairs in faster time. Prices run anywhere from $10 for a single extension to $2,000 for a full head. Visit www.greatlengthsusa.com for a list of salons %26amp; to see before and after shots.
