I've had hair extensions now for almost 2 years. Its very expensive to keep up, but I love it long. I'm hoping this will give my "real" hair underneath a chance to grow back out. Is it harmful on my hair to keep getting the extensions for several years?
How long should you keep getting hair extensions and still have healthy hair?
No, it isn't harmful to your hair to keep it braided. UNLESS you are not giving your hair proper time in between appointments to 'breathe" and be properly conditioned and the ends clipped. Braids (extensions) are GREAT for keeping your hair protected while promoting growth (just ask the singer BRANDY) but, there is a certain amount of responsibility when you take them down to nurture ur hair before putting them back in.
Between sessions, take a day to condition, hot oil treatment and get your ends clipped!

I agree, my natural hair began to thin and i tried sew-in extensions. Always allowing my hair to rest in between with deep conditioning. I also had very bad dandruff, which is totally gone now. My hair is thicker and stronger I have no need to relax my hair at all its soft and silky. This was the best decision I ever made.
