i have had nothing but bad haircuts for 3 years now. so bad it has caused my to have to get hair extensions all the time. i go to someone different everytime. I go to very nice salons, its not like im going to your local walmart salon. last time i went to "toni and guy" paid $75 and she still screwed it up she was the manager and been there 5 years. what can i do to put a stop to these bad haircuts?
Why cant anyone cut hair good?
I have found that all hair cuts look alot better after about 2 weeks. Perms are the same way. It is like a haircut needs to "relax"? So wait 2 weeks to decide if it is that bad or not. I have fine thin hair %26amp; it will never lay right anyway. So it depends on your hair type too I think. Keep trying different stylists till you find one that "understands" what you want %26amp; your hair type. If you take a picture in to show you have to have the same hair type for it to come out the same. Good luck!!!

Report these people to the proper authority, go back when they mess up and ask for a refund, and never go back their again, It also may help if you learn how to cut your own hair, and it can be done, my Son cuts his hair all the time and so do my daughter.

in reality, what is occuring is that you and your stylist have different ideas on how you want your hair to look. it is not that they are unable to cut hair well, it is that they do not understand what you want done to your hair. the best way to stop bad haircuts is to bring pictures of how you want your hair cut whether from a magazine or the internet. and if you cannot find your perfect hair in these pictures bring in different pictures of parts that you like (these bangs, this length, etc.). i used to have the same problem and then decided to bring in pictures and have been very happy since.

More expensive is not always better. I found that when I went to "designer" hair salons they did worse because they knew they were going to get your money anyway. When you are getting $75 a haircut you are not going to need to keep your clientel coming back as much as someone who is making less money. Try going to a reasonable salon and taking a look at the people who walk out. If they look like they have presentable hair give the salon a try. Bring pictures of how you would like your hair to look or do some research so you can tell them exactly what you would like (correct terminology would help).
Keep going to the same person. If they do something you do not like, tell them the next time that you want it this way and last time they did it that way. That way the stylist can learn your tastes. I have been going to the same woman for the past 8 years because she knows what looks good on me and what types of styles I like and dislike. Consistency with your stylist lets them learn about you and your hair much better.
As far as the manager goes, most managers do not actually do alot of hair cutting. They will have the occasional appointment or will have people come that they have been seeing since they graduated from their hairdressing school. Just because the manager isn't the best stylist or the best at cutting doesn't mean their employees will be entirely inept.

Ooh girl, I know exactly how you feel. Same here, I've had bad hair cuts for three years now, it's like one non stop bad mess on my head. This has caused me ALLOT of grief and stress and low self confidence.
Before the bad hair cuts I had nice long hair that was easy to manage. I've had hair stylist do really scary things to my hair, things that I did not ask for. One guy used a razor on my hair without my permission,he razored pieces off almost to my scalp. My entire head of hair was ruined. I didn't even know what he had done until it was to late. I had to wear my hair up for a year and then after the year I went to go get all the razored part cut off. I wanted a cute hair cut using all my new growth. I had a cconsultation and the girl agreed that the cut I wanted would work and it would be cute. Well, she made a mess of my hair. What she did was not even layering,it looked like she just picked up pieces and chopped,it didn't blend and my entire left side was WAY shorter then the right.I let that grow out for several months and then went to someone else. This time I had the owner of the salon cut my hair and OH MY GOD! IT WAS SOOOOO ATROCIOUS! She chopped my hair up and shredded it all over again. It looks all thin and frayed. I can't do anything with it so I have to wear it up and even that doesn't look good. It's been growing out for almost ten months and I need it cut,but I'm to terrified to let anyone touch it. I might wind up bald next time. I tried everything I have read and every tip people have given me to insure a good cut and I still wind up with my hair totally destroyed. I thank God I did not let the last stylist do highlights like she wanted to do. I can't help but think she would have burned my hair clean off my head. The only tip I can give you is if you don't feel comfortable with the stylist for any reason, get up and leave and if their hair doesn't look good, leave. I have gotten crappy hair cuts from stylist with nice hair though,so I really have no idea what to do. Good luck

What can you do to put a stop to these bad haircuts?
Stop getting haircuts. That should do it. They'll keep cutting hair, but it won't be yours that'll get butchered.
Do some price-shopping and while you're in various places, notice what sort of hair they deal with and what results they're getting. If you're fortunate, you'll eventually find a place that may be able to work with you type of hair (thick vs. thin, fine vs. coarse, curly vs. straight) and you may let someone cut %26amp; style your hair again, that, or you may find out that self-trimmed longer hair might better suit your lifestyle.
